Surrogate Process

Providing Support and Encouragement During the Surrogate Process

At Capital Surrogacy, we will do everything possible to facilitate and support you in the journey. Our goal is to reduce any worries or concerns and enable you to be fully satisfied with the experience. In other words, we will take the burden off of you so that you can completely enjoy the surrogacy process from start to finish.

Here the main focus is not only on providing surrogacy services, but we strive to develop a strong relationship between you and the intended parents. Our Case Manager, a former surrogate, will always be available to educate and answer any questions that may be helpful. With that you will receive a gratifying and unforgettable experience that will impact you and your family very positively. The entire process can take anywhere from 1 to 2 years and throughout this process, we provide socio-emotional support from pre-screening until well after delivery.

Why Become a Surrogate

1. Pre-Screening

In the pre-screening process, we thoroughly evaluate surrogate qualifications and determine if you qualify. For this, you will have to first fill out the brief online inquiry form. If you meet the qualification criteria, then an interview with our Case Manager and a questionnaire to determine your journey preferences will be the next steps. After that, we will complete individual and partner background check(s) and get medical clearance from your OB for the surrogacy journey. In the pre-screening process, the last step is an individual psychological check to make sure that you are ready for the journey.

2. Surrogate Profile

Once you are qualified after pre-screening, the Case Manager will create a surrogate profile for you. We will conduct a home visit to collect additional information about you as well as others living in the home, including your support persons.

3. Match

To match the intended parent(s) with a surrogate, we carefully check the profiles of both and match all of the crucial requirements. Profiles will then be shared. After that, we arrange a meeting or video conference call so that you and the intended parents can decide if it is an ideal fit. Once both parties agree to the match, typically within 2 days, we will move forward.

4. Screening / Contracts

In this step, we arrange a medical screening with the intended parents’ IVF clinic and a joint psychological evaluation with the intended parents. Once this is complete, we make an agreement between the surrogate and intended parents based on agreed upon terms and conditions for the journey. Your lawyer will review and negotiate the agreement along with you. Setting up medical insurance for the surrogacy journey is also very important to give complete security in the process.

5. Meds Start – Embryo Transfer

It is time to prepare for the embryo transfer! The IVF clinic will monitor how your body is responding to the medications. Then at the right time in your cycle, you will travel to the intended parents’ IVF clinic for the embryo transfer procedure.

6. Pregnancy

At around 6 weeks of pregnancy, an ultrasound will be done to confirm the heartbeat. The IVF clinic releases you to your OBGYN around 10 weeks of pregnancy and you are taken off of fertility medications.

7. Birth Day!

Finally, the wait is over, and the baby arrives! We will develop a birth plan, including your plans for pumping milk, so that the delivery is as smooth as possible. If local to Capital Surrogacy, we will joyfully visit at the time of delivery. And after delivery, we will do timely follow-up, and you will continue receiving support from us. For international intended parents, we will help with the birth certificate and securing a passport for the baby.
